Dear All
I’m the project officer for Skills for bees – Bumblebee Conservation Trust. I’m excited to be heading to North West Wales this year to deliver training in bumblebee identification and monitoring. This will consist of two online sessions (for beginners initially) and follow up field days.
if you are interested in developing your bee ID and monitoring skills, you are warmly invited to come along to the initial online sessions. Please try to come along to both sessions. Recordings will be made available afterwards. Book via Eventbrite links:
- Wednesday 16th March 2.00pm – Bumblebee Identification

- Wednesday 23rd March 12.00pm – Introduction to bumblebee recording and the Beewalk citizen science scheme
- https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/nw-wales-session-2-bumblebee-recording-and-monitoring-tickets-261879196727
Field days will be arranged subsequently. The online training combined with the field day will give you the skills and knowledge to begin recording bumblebees and to potentially set up Beewalk monitoring transects at your sites. There will be opportunities for further training such as identification of rarer bumblebees later in the year, for those that would like to come along.
If you would like to ask any questions or join my project mailing list, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Zoom links will be sent out one week before the live sessions.
